Hello, Luceti! I'm having a little problem: what to have for lunch. I don't want to eat the same thing, as much as I love it, so! What's your favourite food? Why does it make your mouth water? I'll try anything, I am not picky. I'll share mine first! I really really love chow mein. The smell, the spices, everything about it just gets me hungrier. Burgers are up there, too. Especially when I can put everything on it.

So, what's everyone's favourites?

I rarely eat, as I do not have to. I am sorry I cannot be of much help in this situation, however I am interested in trying new kinds of food. I can still enjoy the taste after all.

I have never heard of chow mein... or burgers.

Oh, that's all right! You can listen in too, and see if anything sounds appetizing.

Chow mein is a noodle dish. You can add meat and vegetables to it and stir fry it a little. It's the best ever! And burgers is just short for 'hamburgers,' it's a beef patty grilled on two pieces of bread. You can add lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and some other toppings to it too.

[Hmm... give him a moment to try and remember if he's seen anything like that before. Well, he can definitely pick out individual ingredients that he knows humans have eaten in his world.]

I am not sure if I quite follow all of that, but thank you for your answer. As you are so interested in food, does that mean you are good at cooking as well?

Well, what do you enjoy doing? When you like doing something, it can be fun! But if you'd like to learn to cook together, I wouldn't be adverse to it. That could be... fun!

I have not had the chance to experience many things. At home I would simply fulfil my purpose. I am a Wind Spirit, and so I use my powers to regulate the world.

...however, I do sometimes enjoy using those powers in other ways. Creating patterns in leaves and snow. Since coming here I have also found that I do not mind dancing. Perhaps I would consider those fun activities.

I believe we should try. We could both learn something new if we aid each other.

You could say that, yes. I'm able to commune with the Guardians of my world who watch over the elements. [And also keep Filgaia going, but she's going to leave that out.]


Maybe the library? We can find something there to work with, something simple, maybe. We can probably use the kitchen in the housing I'm in, I don't think Jane or Rudy would mind.

Guardians... I see. I wonder how similar we are in that case. There are several Spirits in my world as well, each guarding an element or in some cases, some aspect of humanity. We too have those who commune with us... though there are few remaining now who would bother to try.

If the sauce is homemade, it can be really good. Depending on how they're cooked, sometimes more sauce is good. [Especially if they're dry, yuck.]

Oh, and seafood is good too! I like seafood in soup and with pasta.

Let's see. Rasol is one of my favorite dishes from back home, it's perfect for this type of weather too. And of course I can't forget to mention Gogoşi, because that's one of my favorite Romanian desserts.

Oh, what are those? They don't sound familiar to me. I wonder if anyone at Seventh Heaven knows how to make them?

Rasol is a type of stew with your standard meat, vegetables and stock. Gogoşi are basically doughnuts without the hole, and they typically have filling inside them as well.

Oh, those do sound good! Do you think they'd be in any cookbooks around here? If I can get good at cooking, maybe I'll give those a try.

A well-made strawberry shortcake with fresh cream is some of the best dessert food. Oh, and when the strawberries are fresh and ripe too! Maybe I'll have that for dessert.

Oh, a kabob? It's fun in the summertime to do that outside. I think we did that a lot while traveling between towns. Usually it was small animals for dinner.

I suppose I should use 'camping' in the loosest sense; myself and the two that are here from Filgaia with me are called 'Drifters' - we tend to wander a lot so we find ourselves sleeping under a sky instead of a roof.

[Though, this is more new to her, and probably not so much Rudy or Jane. Either way, she's totally a Drifter now!]

I did that a few times while it was still warm out. I'm not sure I want to go out in the cold so much, though if I begin to get the itch to do so, I just might.

I prefer always to have the sky above me than anything else. [It comes with being a dragoon, of course.] I've been out in all manner of weather, you only have to prepare and you should be capable of handling it.

Yeah, the broth and noodles. You should try again, I think Seventh Heaven might still serve some up. It's, like, the perfect food because it's totally simple but filling. And it's easy to eat.

I think there were a few different kinds, but I wasn't sure which I should try. So I went with the simple one. Is there one I should absolutely try? I mean-- I'll try anything, but if there's one that's recommended I'll try it and anything similar if I really like it.

No, not really. I had it a lot when I was studying away from home. It's stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables. It's really good!

I've had it with seafood, beef, pork, and chicken, so anything is good for it. Usual vegetables I see with it are carrots and bamboo shoots, though snap peas are usually there too. It's really the best kind of food.
